Yuma arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in May 2023. He had a family, but they were determined to get rid of him as soon as possible. A kind person decided to find a shelter that would take in Yuma, since his family was talking about abandoning him on a farm. Yuma was in a pitiful state: his coat was full of knots requiring almost a complete shave, and his claws were so long they were digging into his paw pads and hurting like hell. Poor Yuma! He was better off with us than outside or with his old family. So we took good care of him and got him back on his paws. From day one, Yuma was an adorable cat who sought contact with humans. Adorable and curious, he became the darling of many volunteers. He needed dental extractions in addition to basic care that hadn't been done earlier in his life, such as neutering, but Yuma has been an excellent patient. He's in good health despite all this and is now ready to find his family! He has a little head tilt at times, but this could be past cerebellar damage (there's no treatment for this) or a polyp. For the time being, he's just asking us to follow the evolution of this little peculiarity, since if it were a growing polyp, if the situation worsened, he'd have to undergo minor surgery to have it removed. Yuma is sometimes shy around strangers, but generally loves to be held and stroked. He gets on well with other cats and could live with a child if he's gentle and understands how to interact well with cats.Yuma is an adult cat therefore the adoption fees for him are $290. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to free phone consultation with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).
