Donut était errant dans le secteur Montréal-Nord avant d'arriver au Réseau Secours Animal en octobre 2022. Extrêmement stressé, il a été difficile pour Donut de s'habituer à l'environnement du refuge. Afin de nous assurer qu'il progressait bien et que sa santé était sous contrôle, nous l'avons placé dans une petite pièce séparée. Cela a beaucoup aidé Donut à trouver sa confiance en l'humain. Malheureusement, il est porteur du virus de l'immunodéficience féline (VIF). Pour plus d'information sur le VIF: https://www.veterinairesaucanada.net/ressources-associees/virus-de-l-immunodeficience-feline-fiv/ Malgré cela, Donut est en bonne santé et peut vivre une belle et longue vie à l'intérieur! Donut est encore timide, mais il a parcouru beaucoup de chemin. Il se laisse caresser facilement quand on l'approche avec douceur. Il aime beaucoup se faire brosser ainsi que les caresses dans le cou ! Il n'est pas encore à l'aise avec tout le monde, donc il se cherche une famille patiente et douce. Il n'aime pas être manipulé. Donut est encore jeune donc il aime beaucoup jouer. Ce sera votre meilleur atout pour devenir son ami ! Donut ne serait pas un bon match pour une famille avec des enfants, mais pourrait cohabiter avec un autre chat calme. Il aura besoin de temps pour s'adapter à sa nouvelle maison. Donut mange de la nourriture gastro-intestinale provenant de la clinique vétérinaire et devra conserver cette diète. Donut est un chat adulte donc les frais d'adoption pour lui sont de 290$. Il est stérilisé, vacciné et  micropucé. Il est positif pour  le virus de l'immunodéficience féline (VIF), mais négatif pour la leucose féline (FeLV). Des assurances santé de 6 semaines viennent avec son adoption. Vous pourrez avoir recours à l'aide de l'équipe des adoptions aussi longtemps que vous en aurez besoin. Vous avez aussi droit, dans le premier mois suivant l'adoption, à une consultation vidéo de 30 minutes gratuite avec notre consultante en comportement félin FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).

Donut is still shy, but he's come a long way. He's easy to pet when approached gently. He likes to be brushed as well as petted on the neck. He's not yet at ease with everyone, so he's looking for a patient, gentle family. He doesn't like to be handled. Donut is still young, so he loves to play. Playing will be your best tool to continue his socialization! Donut would not be a good match for a family with children, but could cohabit with another calm cat. He will need time to adapt to his new home. Donut eats gastrointestinal food from the veterinary clinic and will need to maintain this diet. Donut is an adult cat so the adoption fees for him are $290. He is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. He is positive for the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but negative for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the help of the adoption team as long as you need it.
